In my opinion, Bow Hothoof and Windy Whistles are WAY better parents for Scootaloo than Snap and Mane.

Yeah, it would’ve been far better, that’s for sure.
I know I’ve said this before, but it wouldn’t be so bad if they had at least been mentioned or whatever before, but they weren’t, and anyone who tries to say otherwise is just trying to lie to themselves.
And I think that they could’ve done it in a similar way to how they handled that Sludge or whatever dragon who said he was Spike’s dad, but maybe have one of Scootaloo’s parents have chosen to left her at the orphanage or something.
They didn’t need to go full Fresh Prince of Bel Air, in that the parent had to be a huge scumbag or anything, but just that made the mistake to not keep caring for her.
And heck, maybe they could’ve gone further with it, like having Snap Shutter and Mane Allgood have been happy expecting parents and all, but one of them sadly died shortly after Scootaloo’s birth, and the remaining parent just wasn’t in the right frame of mind to take care of her. So they chose to leave Scootaloo at the Ponyville orphanage and they could’ve regretted doing that, but understood it was for the best at the time.
They could’ve gone even further and had them not desire to try to force themselves into her life in a forced relationship or anything like that, but just let her know that if nothing else, they’d be there for her if she truly needed them.
They could’ve actually made us sympathize with them and all that without trying to act like they’ve been around the whole time, which is just stupid and lazy writing.

A lot better.
To me, Snap Shutter and Mane Allgood are just really terrible.
The fact they leave Scootaloo for so long and when they finally come back they’re like “Oh we’re going away again and you’re coming with us and we don’t care if you miss your friends or not”. Those are the kind of parents you don’t want in your life.
Now, some say that Aunt Holiday and Aunt Lofty make the perfect parents, but I disagree.
They’re nowhere to be seen when Scootaloo gets her Cutie Mark or does her report is just awful. To me, they’re just as bad as Snap and Mane.
Not to mention Scootaloo said in the episode Parental Glideance “ Growing up, I never thought I’d be the best at anything, because nopony ever told me.” This could indicate that she has badly neglected by all four ponies.
This is why Bow Hothoof and Windy Whistles make the perfect parents for Scootaloo.
Sure while they somtimes go overboard with their support towards Rainbow, their hearts are in the right places and at least they’re actually there for her.
If they did the same thing but with Scootaloo, that would have been great.

You’re assuming quite a lot. Which just makes you look foolish.
The truth of the matter is that Scootaloo’s “real” family was pretty much just thrown in there in one of the last seasons without ever being mentioned before, and you just don’t want to admit it.
Even if they were at least mentioned in season 5 or 6, that would’ve been different. But they weren’t.
It would’ve been objectively better for RD’s parents to officially adopt Scootaloo than just try to throw in some parents and such that we NEVER see or hear of until season 8 or 9.
And blood relations don’t automatically make people family, the love and connection born from that love does.
That’s just the facts, and facts don’t care about your feelings.

@Orbita
That’s the problem with you guys for not giving Mane Allgood and Snap Shutter a chance cause you have no respect for Scootaloo’s real family.
Background Pony #5DC4
But can’t you guys ever just give Scootaloo’s real family a chance cause they deserve the love, too.
Background Pony #ABC2
@chubbyninja89
Quite right.
As Kyle Broflovski from South Park said “Family isn’t about whose blood you have in you, family is about the people who cared about you and took care of you.”
Sure they’re not the same blood, but Rainbow loves her little sister. And so do Bow and Windy.

I know right?!
And like I said, they wouldn’t need to make it overly dramatic or anything, but at least be somewhat blunt and to the point to where it would show that just having a blood relation to someone doesn’t make them family, and visa versa of course.

I know it’s been a few days since I last commented here, but I thought this might be worth it.
I know I kind of mentioned this before, but I think it would’ve been a really great story if instead of Spike having a fake parent come around, they would’ve had it be Scootaloo’s parents show up after RD’s parents adopt Scootaloo and it somewhat ends with Bow Hothoof telling them off for not being their for her.
Something like this awesome scene
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PI4Mv8R0mE0
And while I don’t think they would need to go quite so dramatic with it, they could’ve still get the same message across effectively.

Yeah, if they actually made an episode where Bow and Windy adopted Scootaloo, that would have been the perfect way to end Scootaloo’s character arc.
