From the bits I’ve gathered, there will be a transformation during the course of the movie, explaining the discrepancy of the designs. I’m told it’ll make more sense when we see it.

That’s what I’ve been able to piece together, anyway.

I believe they dress up as ponies during the dance. The characters in the background don’t appear to have the ears and you see them wearing fake ears in the trailer for some reason.

This obviously isn’t a shot from the movie, but it’d really be nice if they had some semblance of consistency between these things. These ones have the ears and tails, but now no wings.

I mean I know the movie won’t look like this, but the last thing we need is one more thing for people to get butthurt over.
