The cutie mark thing, if that leaking anon is to be believed, is something that is encouraged by the school to have an outward expression of yourself.

Apparently the cutie mark translate in pathological obsession to put the mark on eveyr single object they own, clothes, school material, EVERYTHING(it is infinitely more creepier and insane than magical tattoos, but sadly i understand why they choose this way..emulation by little girls could be dangerous because no girl is born wiht unique birthmark aint it?)

The cheek thing was a lapse in judgement, I’m guessing.

I also notice in this picture (and possibly the other image with the photo?) that they don’t have the cutie marks on their cheeks either.

I would like to add even more info about my problem with EG. @Background Pony  
As pointed out ther eis good chance it will the usual highschoo drama…and all of us had to accept it. Shitty or not do not change what it will be. At very best it would be on par on some Disney romcom series. We have to deal with it.  
Hopefully the movie won’t grow into a spinoff series but never say never, if Baywatch by night was possible anything goes.  
As for the design, the problem for me is less the design and more that fact that when humanized too much, well they become LESS interesting as characters. I don’t know why. Perhaps is just that as human i can see their personality for true, and well, is less than entertaining. I don’t know why. Is just that as ponies(magical ponies) they are funny. The entire world of equestria is part of the charme of the show. But as humans….something is amiss, I dont’ know. Is just that…something is missing, something that would help click “ok its cool” part of the brain. Is like there is something in them being ponies that as humans lack(and this is true not just for EG but for all huamnization art around) Semianthro sometimes work, but other times don’t.  
And now i will end up the post, as i’ve wasted perhaps too many words ono a psin off i can ignore without trouble(except for the annoying art on the boards, but if i can ignore the humanization art and grimdark I can do that for EG but i would prefer if the hide behind a log so ic oudl skip them)
