Description

The Last Crusade: How It Should Have Ended.
Headcanon:
The events of Season 8-9 (With the exception of The Washouts and Best Gift Ever) and Rainbow Roadtrip are not canon.
Barley and Pickle Barrel are the children of Sunshower Raindrops and Rainbow Blaze.
Scootaloo gets adopted get Bow Hothoof and Windy Whistles in my headcanon.
Note: Yes, I know that Rainbow Flash (AKA Rainbow Dash G3) is an earth pony, but don’t worry, Twilight gave her a special magical spell that allows her to walk on the clouds.
Also, Rainbow’s line is based on this: https://youtu.be/weclhCRIt6k?si=gIOXYzKqsmDeyN6a

Duck - I love arguing so much I don't know when to stop!
Lunar Supporter - Helped forge New Lunar Republic's freedom in the face of the Solar Empire's oppressive tyrannical regime (April Fools 2023).

And I just find it kind of hilariously ironic that the writers would try to somewhat tackle a subject of deadbeat dads and such things like that with that episode about that Sludge or whatever dragon that said he was Spike’s dad, but then don’t do that with a character that has long since been lacking parents of her own.
I’m not even saying they have to make Scootaloo’s biological parents scumbags or anything, just that they weren’t there for her when she was younger than she is.
I personally liked the idea of Snap and Mane actually being happy expecting parents who would’ve loved and cared for Scootaloo, but maybe one of them sadly died shortly after her birth and the remaining one just wasn’t in the right frame of mind to take care of her, so they left her at the Ponyville Orphanage, knowing it was better for her at the time.
They wouldn’t have had to go super in depth about it, but they could’ve had, let’s say it was Snap, openly acknowledge that he made a mistake but still cares about her, but wasn’t about to try to force some sort of forced relationship out of thin air onto Scootaloo, but just lets her know that if nothing else, he’d be there for her if she really needed him.
I just think that the writers could’ve handled such a storyline with enough maturity to make it work really well, without resorting to silly overused tropes and such.

Well, I won’t get into the aunts, but I will say that it would’ve just been better for RD’s parents to adopt Scootaloo instead, mainly because they were already like sisters, so they should’ve just made it official.

Even that seems like it was incredibly forces as well, for multiple reasons.
I just think that the writers should’ve just had RD’s parents adopt Scootaloo, to show that family isn’t about blood relations, but the love of the family.

Well, I think that that resentment comes from the fact that the writers never mentioned before and have them just show up out of nowhere and expect us to pretend that they were there the whole time.
It’s kind of the same reason why a lot of us don’t like the whole SugarMac pairing, as it was made from nothing. But at least you could make the excuse that they made up for that with several episodes focused on the pairing, which was obviously only done to justify the pairing being made instead of MarbleMac or one of the other Big Mac pairings.
