Marmalade is a 32 year old Earth pony mare born and raised on the meaner streets of Trottingham, and now living in Dazzledell Hollow. Here she owns a small, well regarded café, where she works alongside her mother, Pearly Popper, and her younger sister, Cheese Toastie. She has the Equestrian equivalent of a Cockney accent- which can confuse others, especially when she starts using rhyming slang.
Growing up when and where she did in Trottingham, life was hard for her and her family throughout her childhood. Poverty was their constant companion for many years, despite everypony working extra jobs to try and make ends meet. Marmalade’s father, a builder by the name of Lump Hammer, eventually worked himself to death, suffering a heart attack- ironically, on the site of a new cardiac hospital under construction.
Despite the tragedy of Lump’s passing, enough money was raised for the rest of the family to move away to Dazzledell Hollow, and here nearly two decades later, they have rebuilt their lives in this kinder, quieter place. Even Lump Hammer made it there, after a fashion, as his ashes were scattered in the roots of the plum tree in Pearly’s front yard. From what we at the Bureau have been able to ascertain, it’s what he would have wanted.
Marmalade is a fairly small example for an adult earth pony mare, being 3 feet and 10 inches, or approximately 110 centimetres tall. As for her weight, she is around 43 pounds, or 19.5 kilogrammes. Small, agile and notably tough for her size, Marmalade can be quite a fierce opponent if underestimated, as she has a tendency to fight as dirty as she can- when driven to that extreme, of course.
Far more often than not, Marmalade is seen as a very friendly, excitable mare of integrity, honour, and more recently; brutal honesty. After being deeply inspired by tales of the former bearer of the Element of Honesty, and subsequently meeting Applejack herself, Marmalade will not lie to anyone, even if the situation would be better if she did do so.
When it comes to more personal matters, Marmalade is pansexual, and couldn’t care less about the species of a potential partner. She is not currently dating anypony at present, and can be considered single as of the writing of this entry.
