Description
This concept is incomplete as I have left A Little Bit Different. Of all the art that I produced for this game, only two concepts were actually used: a set of drawers and the Spherical House, the latter of which was altered beyond my design. The “team” leader, “Dreamy”, does whatever he wants - it’s his game and he makes all the decisions, despite having over 40 people in the group. I sunk tens of hours of work into this art and neglected my other projects for months, under the promise of being paid on release, only for him to extend the release date by a year and refuse to delegate work. I was given entirely meaningless tasks to create concepts for objects and buildings that will never be used, for absolutely no gain on my end. I’ve seen the game in its current state (as of this upload), and it looks like a solo-project, which is really sad considering the number of people that have foolishly given away their time and skills for free, tricked/brainwashed into thinking this game will be something and their contributions matter. Though most of all I feel sorry the Patrons who are giving Dreamy nearly $1,000 a month, all of which goes straight into his own pocket for food and rent. I was on a semi-strike for a couple of months by the end of my time there, but Dreamy’s continued holier-than-thou, selfish attitude put me so far off this game that I was forced to leave for my own well-being, as have many before me and since. This game is a train-wreck of ego and bad decisions, and I can’t dissuade people enough from supporting this project. To speak about this piece specifically: It’s a coffee shop. Dreamy asked for it to be a “recognisable brand” like Starbucks, so I did that. He wanted me to design a coffee shop’s façade (as it would appear in a mall) or stand, name/logo/branding, and interior furniture. I will remind you that this is a post-apocalyptic game, so what’s the point in designing all these things only in pristine condition? Upon seeing this WIP, Dreamy didn’t like the logo and wanted it in green and white or brown and white. Having been on a semi-strike for a while, then being away for surgery, then leaving the group, those changes were not made.
