Well, the silhouette of the Mare in the Moon disappeared after Luna’s return, as far as I remember, and at least that might have given Opaline some clues, whatever neck of the woods she might have been living in. So… the latter, I think. To take away as much hope from them as possible.
Also, Starless Sky is showing you a tongue.
