“An extraordinarily rare type of pegasus who lives in the tallest of mountains, Ruby is part of a lesser known race of pegasi who have relegated themselves to the harsher conditions of the Equestrian hills, in search for the ultimate privacy from the affairs of those on the ground level of Equestria. Unlike normal pegasi, Mountain Pegasus are suited to gliding in the high winds and thin air, and as such their feather pattern is reversed. Additionally, their weight and overall profile is much lighter than their counterparts, nearly two-thirds the weight of a regular pegasus. Their hooves and legs are significantly thinner, not having to worry about sinking into fluffy clouds or loose dirt. Finally, they are immensely fluffier, possibly the fluffiest breed of equestrian to exist, with a quite unique bomber jacket aesthetic on their chest to assist in both aerodynamics and warmth in their preferred climates. When brought to regular climates and conditions for a normal pony, Mountain Pegasi suffer in overheating if not careful. Additionally, their wing profile is unsuited for much effort, and they can tire quickly in calm winds.”
