It’s a known “new” issue and will be resolved at some point.  
From what I understand, the way the server was resizing images was putting a larger strain than it should have been, and thus, currently disabled.

But, why does it work for me, then? When I have it on, the page loads a lot faster, and I have to click on it to load the full image, which if it an absurd res picture, it takes a good while. On the other hand, when it’s off, the page takes a lot longer to load when I first click it, and the full image is loaded onto the page automatically.
 
I don’t know, but I am pretty sure it does work for me.

Under display options, it says “scale large images”. This way, it will load a smaller version of the image upon page load, so you can either press view, download, or simply click the image and it will then load the full image.

I just got that too. Get it in a lot of places.

He’s saying that the pic has to load in full size before it loads the smaller one, which takes a fuckload of time, throws you off, and yadda yadda.
