Implying he did anything to flim or flam
I don’t think he could have treated her in a manner that MacIntosh would be fine with. If he’s too friendly it’s “are you hitting on mah sister?!”. If he’s not friendly enough it’s “why aren’t you hitting on mah sister?!”.
WHOCK
Yes, I made it up, I was making a sarcastic commentary about what I feel is the skewed priorities this show invokes.
Bully to snob?
Where’d you get that origin from?
Or did you make that up?
It’s not that I like them, but I won’t apply any standard to them I wouldn’t for any other character, and when the characters I’m supposed to be sympathetic to engage in idiocy that results in extensive collateral damage and a few near-fatalities, then all a bit of obnoxious snobbery can invoke in me is apathy.
Not to mention the expectation that I’m supposed to forgive Trixie (a child-abusing, enslaving dictator), Princess Luna (a genocidal, narcissistic usurper), the red dragon (a short-tempered inconsiderate ecological disaster), and Discord (a mind-raping, reality warping harbinger of the apocalypse). But no, Blueblood is supposed to be what gets me riled up.
Really, the reason King Sombra had to be destroyed was not because he cruelly enslaved the Crystal Empire, that’s completely forgiveable. No, the reason he was destroyed was because he was a childhood bully who grew up to be a snob. By the standards of the show, that’s far worse.
lol what?
The facts are the facts. AJ’s food was “carnival fare.” Just like if I catered a wedding with hot dogs (and I do like franks at a bbq or when I hit up a Mets game) people would either laugh or be insulted. I can see the RSVPs now! Right under the name of your guest, you have the choice of Filet Minion, Lobster, Vegetarian dish, Salmon, or Hot Dog.
It’s laughable.
It doesn’t have anything to do with “liking snobs” and everything to do with admitting that some things are not going to be embraced at certain gatherings. Blueblood’s blatantly unchivalrous but otherwise trollish behavior hardly makes me want to “beat the shit” out of him. Are you nuts? I’m sorry, I hate how this is insulting, but that’s really the kind of thing a child thinks or says… or an Internet Tough Guy, which is basically the same thing as being a child.
@SpacePaladin
Sooo…what then? Do you like snobs or something? Seriously, if you dont have something deep inside you that compels you to beat the shit out of blueblood then you’re not human. Its not a matter of rich vs poor, I personally know some people that act like snobs and they can barely afford to put gas in their car, and I know rich people that are on the same level as Morgan Freeman.
I haven’t seen any pictures, but it’s becoming quite popular in fanfics. (I can see this happening, since we already know that Cadance is pretty much Blueblood’s cousin. I’m pretty sure he’s ticked off at Shining for snogging her and such.)
Pretty much.
I mean, its juvenile.
Plus, how many of you have been to black-tie or even just catered events with fritters? It would be like seeing a hot dog at a wedding reception. Sure, hot dogs are great - especially with sauerkraut and relish and mustard, or Chicago style or with pickles and greens, or… you get the idea - but I sure wouldn’t expect to see one at a reception.
I have to assume “what Twilight wants” is a bit higher on the pecking order than “what Blueblood wants,” though. Even before Twilicorn.
That’s a good question actually. After all, this is what she said right after he spit out her fritter:
“Well, no wonder nopony wants my food. They’re fillin’ up on those fancy-schmancy vittles. Well, my down-home apples are plenty good enough for this crowd. I’ll just dress ’em up a bit and prove it to ’em.”
There’s a good chance Blueblood and the other Canterlot elite might’ve liked the cake she made afterwards. Also, I’ll admit: I’ve never seen an apple fritter outside a carnival, let alone a caramel apple…
Being X>friend of a relative being X
And the boss of said princess being Blueblood’s aunt.
Connections, like one of his sister’s best friends being a princess herself?
It was a loogie. One of those gross bloody ones, too.
The problem is that these “decent commonfolk” tend to be far more destructive and inconsiderate than the snobs, so when I see stuff like this, I don’t think “Yeah, put that snob in his place!”, I think, “You know, it’s stuff like this that justifies the snobby behaviour in the first place.”
(Of course, if Applejack even remembered him. I doubt he was the first to scoff at her food, so she didn’t much care.)
i would like to see what celly and luna would say….
methinks old blueballs has no say compared to the ageless demigod princesses
Not when it comes to something as universal as that. There has never been, and never will be, a system that doesn’t favor the elite.
I’d assume laws in equestria and laws on earth are very different.
