I am not going to call him Bifrost, ever. Spectral Blitz, Rainbow Rush, Northern Lights, even Rainbow Road– any of those would be a better choice. Bifrost doesn’t even somewhat sound like a Pony name.

It’s a stupid name. It doesn’t fit the standard pony name format at all. Spectrum Rush, Spectrum Flash, Spectrum Anything sounds better than Bifröst.

I couldn’t remember what picture so I googled: Derpibooru “his name should be Bifrost”
 
I’m not sitting here going “I DED IT” and being a possessive retard about it, But I’m just pointing out it’s probably one of the first suggestions for that name at least in comment form. As for the retagging I have no idea.

Ye what I meant to say I personally think is a good name would be Spectrum Flash or something along the lines of that. Anyhoo, this whole Bifrost thing just doesn’t sit right with me for various reasons.

Dangit, didn’t notice the reddit thing, but I still think Rainbow Blitz, which appeared not long after the episode, was more spontaneous and hence better.

Ye but I’d say the naming of a character should be a bit more organic than one dude plus maybe a few of his buds unilaterally deciding it one day without any real input from the majority.

You’re all wrong. The name comes from the MLP Wiki by way of this Reddit poll, in which Bifröst was the most popular name anyone put forward. You’re welcome to try for another poll, but this is the current democratic consensus.

Meh, Spectrum Rush is still better for the simple play off Rainbow Dash, ya know like most parent to child pony names. For that matter tagging them without consensus.. well that just ain’t right.
