I agree. That girl that looked very similar to Cloud Kicker had a different hair pattern and slightly different style. So, different character. I named her Cloudy Kicks ;)

I knew this already. Its pretty obvious too, Vinyl, nor Octavia for that matter, NEVER appeared just randomly in the bg of any scene, their only scenes were at least mildly scripted. Lyra, Bonbon, Doctor Whooves, derpy, etc, have apperared in BG scenes all the time, often clones, or often with parts missing/added as they are just filler. Derpy sometimes alternates between both scripted and filler.

I imagine that any character in their files that has an actual name is no longer a “background character”. Vinyl would’ve never been one for the animators as she was designed for a specific scene, and then reused specifically in to other scenes.

See, I don’t know if that was a good idea in hindsight. Humanizing the background pones would have done a lot to reinforce the concept that Canterlot High exists in an alternate version of Equestria. And it would have kept my username from becoming a tag.
