Steam Train’s humor is alright so far, but I’m waiting for when they do another game where they will probably grow on me. The games they chose.  
Look at the first steam train image ( 357146 ) to see the reasons why I think Steam train didn’t start off well (not copy+pasting cause this post is already a wall of text).

I do believe that Jon suffers from the “Let’s Player’s curse” when he plays. He worries too much about keeping the audience (and seemingly Arin) entertained to the point where he doesn’t care how well he plays. So subconsciously he won’t focus as hard making him worse at the game.  
Many people who are new at making videos similar to gamegrumps will fall victim to the same thing and they’ll mention it. Some people get over the “Let’s Player’s curse”, others may never get over it and always fail to do well when they know they are being recorded, but do incredibly well when they aren’t being recorded.  
Both of them are pretty good at playing games. Take a look at Super Smash Bros Brawl, they play pretty well. They arent tournament caliber though, they don’t even do any fancy “teching” to maximize the effectiveness of their characters. Though, I can easily say that they’d be able to beat anyone in my town on that game.  
While I think I could beat them, Just because you can kill 3 level 9 computers, doesn’t mean you can kill another player because of mind-games (I also only have melee, not brawl sadly).
 
Danny doesn’t really seem to care if the world think’s he is stupid or whatever (his channel is ninjasexparty for crying out loud!), so I think he won’t get hit by the Let’s Player Curse much, if at all.

To be honest, I kinda liked Dan right off the bat for the sheer fact that he’s actually good at the games. On the one hand, he’s said that Punch-Out and SMB2 are two of about five games he’s good at, but on the other, Jon beat his chest about his supposed knowledge of Banjo-Kazooie and then made an ass of himself when it came time to show.

The newest Castle Crashers ep. was pretty funny. Talking about porn parodies like Jurassic Pork and Spreadator.

Even still… I wish he would of finished up Sonic 06’…

Yeah, that’s just what I thought.
 
In my opinion, Danny’s just fine, he’s smart, he’s funny.  
But the thing is, Jon left the comedic footprint of a giant, that Danny can’t possibly fill.  
Arin and Jon’s personalities meshed so perfectly, with Arin being the straight-man and jon being the funny-guy. Danny’s somewhere inbetween the two. And that is a big disadvantage, comedy-wise.

Danny is good. Steam Train is alright. Both of them have managed episodes better than Jon and Arin’s low points, which works for me.  
This is not the Grumpocalypse the YouTube comment section has foretold~
 
Plus, Jon going back to making his videos. I miss his videos.

People don’t hate Danny, really. They just fear change. Of course he’s not going to have the same chemistry with Arin that Jon did. He’s still funny.

They have, what, one, two episodes up (last I checked)? You gotta give them time. Jontron was an annoying little shit when he first started Game Grumps, but he grew. Before screaming about your JonArin OTP and resisting change, give the new guys a chance.
