Sunset was defeated by the element of Harmony, like Discord and Nightmare.
 
But unlike them, she didn’t fail because of overconfidence, but because the power she wielded belonged to Twilight.
 
Both Sombra and her were defeated by forces out of their control.
 
And Sunset, so far, is the only villain who has outright tried to kill someone, specifically a member of the main six. (Though Sombra had come close in his episode to impaling Spike, but that was only secondary in obtaining the Crystal Heart.)
