Personally, I vastly prefer 2013. it has way more character to it.
I think the real problem is they changed their style drastically in 1 year. Most people that do these 1 year difference things show their improvement because they’ve improved on their style, not changed their/improved their style.
if anyone can do that then why don’t you show us that you can.
You realize 95% of people draw ponies like that yet it can range from crap to amazing, there’s more to it than what you listed. I like the 2013 one because it had more character, but based on technicality the 2012 one is probably harder to draw.
Seems like our humble opinions upset you, what a shame.
The first one is as boring as boring can get. Solid, uniform, boring black lines. Boring shitty one-tone blurred shadow. Colors pulled from a ref sheet and left unaltered. The first one is something literally anyone can do.
The second one has a TON of improvement. The first one is boring as fuck. The second one has actual fucking creativity.
Yeah I saw this person’s post a while ago, thought the same thing. Maybe the 2013 is a more unique style, but I don’t think it’s an improvement.
