Lightning Dust was…But that was only because it was too further Rainbow’s growth….I didn’t think Dust was a bad character, just impulsive. (Hey, some of the main six have done worse stuff intentionally and got off scott free….In context, they always gave explanations for it. (Kind of, not really, but you didn’t hate them…most of the time.) Out of context…You might question how they’re all friends, or the fact that they don’t have any friends outside their own bunch makes sense.)
Well, she has Spike so we’re safe….For the most part. (Spike is pretty much her ‘reality check’ got to.) Besides, she doesn’t do that on a regular basis. She only gets really out there during a crisis….like a late friendship report….Yeah, umm…..BLAME CHAOS!
If somebody needs constant supervision to not blow up a village, then there’s no way that person is safe to be around.
To be honest, a lot of characters are really dis-respective of Pinkie. Which does irk me to a degree, even though I know some people wouldn’t care much for her ‘always’ cheerful, up in you face attitude. Pinkie’s still a fav character in my opinion.
And the facts you brought up…That’s Twilight! She always overreacts and does something outrageous. It’s in her character to do so. Yes, it can get so annoying for her to do so many illogical things, but in the end, she’s still a nice character to watch. Maybe not the best, but she’s still a good character. {Maybe she’s like that is because she’s not with Celestia or her family to real her in when she get’s out of control. Like how we’ve seen Cadance help her relax, and Celestia calmly reassuring her. She needs some supervision.}
If they actually showed her growing like a real person would, instead of constantly being morally superior, her ascendance wouldn’t be such a sore topic.
I blame the writing. If Twilight was allowed to show how smart and composed, and increasingly friendly, she’s supposed to be, the plot would be over immediately. We certainly got a lot of backlash from that in a certain recent episode…
Well, she kinda goes against everything the show is about, as well as her supposed characterization. She always takes the first solution she comes across, rather than try to come up with a new one, or look for an easier solution, unless her current plan fails. She violates the scientific method whenever she does anything science related, and disregards common sense when dealing with dangerous situations, despite apparently being the smart one with several years worth of intensive study. She betrays, lies, and insults all of her friends in some manner, and does not hold much respect for them, Pinkie especially. Those are just some of my reasons.
