@Amber
Still, even if that was the case, the people of Hasbro did bring it up first. I also hear they gave her, and the other people making it alot of freedom with the show, so they aren’t really as “tyrannical” with the show as some think.
Y’know, the people working on the new Nick TMNT TV show are also big fans of the old TMNT comics, action figures, and campy cartoon. It’s kinda funny how people who were fans in their youth get to work on their favorite shows/toys as a grown-up.
>if Hasbro didn’t approach Lauren Faust to make the show, she never would’ve been interested in making a MLP cartoon in the first place.
Wasn’t the other way around?
If my memory doesn’t fail me,she said in one of her intervirews that the went to Hasbro to pitch her Galaxy Girls (because they were mainly toys) and the suit that attended her that day was sort of like “Oh,interesting concept” * one thing leads to another * “Hey! are you familiar with MLP? we are planning to make a new cartoon.Are you interested?”
It seemed that it was more of something of Luck that she happened to be a G1 fan.
Yeah, and honestly, I can’t think of any bronies who “worship” Hasbro either like this Jax guy claims… In fact, I always see bronies bashing them for not making the toys 100% show-accurate, making Twilight an alicorn, the E.G. spin-off movie/toys, and such. (Those things don’t bother me personally.)
I don’t worship Hasbro, but I also don’t blindly hate them for petty reasons…

Are you fucking kidding me? Most bronies (not just half of them) revere Faust like a goddess. Hell, I wouldn’t be surprised if many of them seriously believe that she is one.
While the creation of the show we love was a collaborative effort by many talented people, Faust did have a major role in laying the foundation and framework that made it so appealing.
Also, Rob Renzetti should be honored too. He had a big role in the first season, but is often forgotten in this conversation.
Also, I have yet to meet anyone whom seriously disparages Faust, as I think that we are in near unanimous agreement that her impetus made the show what it was.
As a Trekkie, let me share something: I can remember a time when anything Trek not done by Roddenberry was cursed and disparaged as “not true Trek” by his fans. To them, the only true series of Trek were TOS, TAS, The movies 1-6, and the first two seasons of TNG. Hell, I still know people like that in real life whom consider him the way certain bronies consider Faust: Infallible.
So to me, this is just same shit, different fandom
@Amber
The Big Bang creates the universe as we know it. The protons, neutrons, and electrons that will eventually compose MLP are formed, ruining it forever. A Thursday.
Damn you evolution! I’d like a word with Charles Darwin and the man upstairs about the quality of season 3. I could be watching My Little Mesohippus right now. Now there’s a concept!

Seconded

That show jumped the shark when it was retooled into “My Little Merychippus”.
Now, “My Little Epihippus”, now that was a show!
Damn you evolution! I’d like a word with Charles Darwin and the man upstairs about the quality of season 3. I could be watching My Little Mesohippus right now. Now there’s a concept!
You know what? Blame the Eohippus (the earliest ancestor of a modern horse).
That’s where the real fault lies.
I blame her parents!
(This guy wants to wage war against Hasbro, or something.)
I don’t worship Lauren Faust, Hasbro, MacCarthy, or Larson, but I’m not bothered by the show’s current directions honestly.
Forget Larson, McCarthy and co!
Bonnie Zacherle is the true cause of the problem!
@Bolan
It went downhill since the 80’s
The show was ruined the moment they decided it would be about ponies!
