Yes, you’re quite right.

(sorry if I made you upset there by mistake. Didn’t mean it.)

@Evowizard25
A mere letter, perhaps?

And Chrysalis’s plan was clear enough (PM me for details cuz I’m bushed here)and I doubt her doing this during the wedding between a Captain and the Princess of LOVE was a coinkinky-dink. Heck, if she killed Cadence, she would’ve missed out on manufacturing food for her own subjects.

@matt0044

“Why is it so hard for you to see that they saw how (Faux) Cadence was caught up in pre-martial stress many can be subjected to?”

Hard to for me to see it?

SERIOUSLY?!!

Dude, I actually mentioned that point earlier! Of course, I see it! I’ve watched A Canterlot Wedding so many times I can remember about every single line of dialog by heart! I’ve seen it enough times that it’d be impossible for me NOT to see that!

You know what? I don’t feel like discussing this anymore so I’ll put it like this…

The arguments you have made about the episode are strong, I agree. I would be lying if I said you didn’t make several good points, but when it comes to how we differ in opinions about Twilight’s suspicions being ignored, I think this is where we should just agree to disagree.

@matt0044
But then that raises the question. When and how was the threat made? Was it a foolish changeling who accidently revealed him/herself. Or was it something else.

As is, Chrysalis’s plan was obviously made on the spot and was constantly changing.
matt0044

@Evowizard25
You conveniently forgot his “migraines” (which Chrysalis was likely implanting in him). Odds are that his behavior was being affected by them (especially when his sister’s actions brought out a strong emotional reaction from him).

@Psyga315
In real life (yeah, I know it’s MLP but just here me out), some places do get bomb threats on occasion, and usually they’re taken seriously, but places do continue normal procedures until the threat is ascertained, and by, get this, by not inducing panic in the place to those who aren’t in the loop.

Celestia was going to continue with the wedding until she could find those responsible for the threat, and considering they did have a enormous shield around the city, and an alerted guard, i’d say she’s very confident, but cautious.

Chrysalis likely used her deception, Cadence’s form and ties to royalty to convince Celestia to have the wedding go on despite the threat made.

As a big brother, I know what you mean. When I look at the scene, I think to myself ‘I would never say those things to my little sister’. I wouldn’t ban her from my wedding and then just walk off. Yes, a talking too, but then I’d try and make her smile and get her to apologize to my ‘wife’.
matt0044

@Evowizard25
I find her relatable like that (speaking from experience here). No matter how smart, we’re not infallible.

Well, you’re not Twilight’s friend and what she did, even I’d be like “Not cool, Twi.” I’d forgive her as I’d expect the Mane Five to (had that Cadence been the real one). However, I simply can’t blame the five and Celestia for their disapproval at the time no matter how I slice it. And Shining Armor had more reason because that was his wife running off in tears because of his own sister. He expected better of her.

I think that’s where the controversy truly lies: how were perceive the scene due to how we were brought up. Clearly, nobody was going to see this scene the same way.
Evowizard25

@matt0044
That’s the annoying thing about Twilight. She has the habit of going for the whackiest or nonsensical solution. You’d expect somepony like Pinkie to do that.

Well, I can get where you’re coming from but if a friend of mine was acting like Twilight, I’d try and help her, not walk out of a room….Also if someone threw out my cooking, I’d be madder then a bull at a rodeo.

Only Celestia and Shining were doing that. Celestia didn’t really have the bright idea to… oh I don’t know… hold off the wedding until the threat got eliminated or… Oh heck, inform the ponies via letter. Seriously, Spike could instantly spit out letters without Discord knowing and she didn’t bother telling the ponies “oh, PS, there’s a big threat looming so I think we need to get ready for that.”
matt0044

@Evowizard25
You forget that she can give into her emotions at times. After all, she was frustrated by Shining Armor’s late invitation and Cadence’s behavior. Speaking of good ol’ “Lesson Zero…”

@SemiJuggao

Why is it so hard for you to see that they saw how (Faux) Cadence was caught up in pre-martial stress many can be subjected to? As well as trying to get Twilight to not do something she’d regret (which she’d do but because of events out of their foresight).

Another thing is that, they were busy with preparations and had other things to worry about. Including a looming threat they had to be ready for.

Now all this is making me think that there should be a fanfic where just one of the ponies stuck with Twilight when she talked with Shining Armor and Fake!Cadance and see what goes on from there.
SemiJuggalo

@matt0044

Again, this is true. Also, the others weren’t there to see that Shining Armor cleared things up with Twilight and they made peace. They especially weren’t there to learn that Twilight actually had prior history with the bride-to-be. So that’s even more reason for them to think she was just being a downer.

However, I still stand by the fact that they pretty much blew her off in favor of somepony they just met. And the moral of Lesson Zero still applies to their situation, which was to take your friends concerns seriously, even if you don’t think there’s anything to worry about. Twilight was expressing realistic complaints about Not-Cadance’s bitchiness and lack of respect for everypony’s hard work, even if it was common, stereotypical “bridezilla” behavior.
