This isn’t even an argument. It’s one guy trying to have a discussion and another guy sticking his fingers in his ears saying “LALALA UR WRONG I CANT HEAR U.”
I meant not entirely serious. Oops.
@BP: I meant it’s like comparing apples to oranges. Batman was dark, serious, and made you think about the hero’s and villains plight and it’s all deep and stuff.
MLP is just a comedy show with it’s own mythos that entirely serious.
Treating MLP as something of Batman levels of seriousness is silly.
Aaaaaaand WHAT exactly makes MLP worse than Batman?
This is way too much thought and effort to put into this, and the further you take it, the less likely it is either of you will come out looking good. Just leave the discussion. Go do something else for a while.
>When it comes to critical analysis, though, I see flaws with the climatic reveal and what happens thereafter until Chrysalis is defeated.
You mean the part that if they changed everything to what you think it should happen, then it would be good? It was bad because it didn’t happen the way you wanted it to happen, and that’s it. Critical analysis over a MLP show… that’s the worse thing you could do, because this isn’t Batman, the animated series, it’s MLP. You’re type just sucks the fun out of everything.
>support my statements with actual stuff we all see from from the show
And only what you see in the show, and can’t expand or accept anything unless the show itself tells you in detail, which it never will.
>I forgot I was talking to a stereotypical American
Stay classy Mattatatta.
>And while we’re on the subject of supporting statements, let’s look at what you posted as links.
Those links are what I could find in short notice, the rest would take hours to find, and some of those websites are gone or transferred over. There was a whole different set of transcripts on google docs, but it was gone before I could download them, and so on.
>I do not see what you’re trying to point out in the three wiki links.
Debunking how you think changelings work and that whole Chrysalis needed to recharge from shinning bullcrap, and maybe you would get a better idea about the Queen and what’s she’s like first, even pointing out that she herself was surprised that she over powered Celestia and had no idea that she would win.
>Moreover, the wiki only assumes what we’re supposed to assume over why the Mane 6 were captured – they were outnumbered.
Same difference. We have no idea how long they were fighting, so for all we know, they’ve been at it for hours, they were outnumbered, then captured.
>It also doesn’t acknowledge the fact that the scene were the Mane 6 failed occurred offscreen, leaving only implications.
So what if it happen off screen? This isn’t an action show, you know, and this is only a 22 minute show. If this was the Legend of Korra, then maybe they would’ve shown the fight, but fighting isn’t the main draw of the show, so it’s not going to be shown. This is a slice of life comedy show, not transformers.
>None of them claim that the Mane 6 could unlock the door that held the Elements without Celestia
Do you really think that Celestia would tell Twilight to get something that she couldn’t, and Twilight would agree? To anyone watching it, it would be obvious that the lock on that door was either changed, or Twilight learned off camera. I mean, we didn’t see her learning how to shoot magic out of her horn, and considering that Rarity didn’t do it, it’s not a common thing, but Twilight can do it anyway and we never saw her do it before. The main problem you seem to have is that you can’t think outside of the episodes and seem to think that those episodes are one day apart or something.
Like I said, I couldn’t find all the links because it would take forever, not that it would’ve done anything to help.
>busying yourself with looking at Fluttershy having juice
Oh and you clearly have no patience to read. Because I explained in great detail that I surprisingly don’t hate the entire finale, and always enjoy watching it. When it comes to critical analysis, though, I see flaws with the climatic reveal and what happens thereafter until Chrysalis is defeated.
Now apparently, being one to type a lot, support my statements with actual stuff we all see from from the show, and generally put forth my thoughts on the episode in the form of a small, rough essay (since I address a lot of different things in my comments), it makes me a blockhead. Right. I forgot I was talking to a stereotypical American, you do not do your fellow men any favours with that kind of logic, you’re lucky that I know better.
And while we’re on the subject of supporting statements, let’s look at what you posted as links. The very first link is to a compilation of FAN MADE transcripts posted on EqD for Season Two, and the other three are links to mlp.wikia.com pages. These pages, while they are maintained meticulously in order to provide the most accurate information, are still operated and edited by fans, and only simply echo show canon and word of God, where applicable - much like how I support my feelings. And as for the fanmade transcripts, whatever is contained them is not equal to canon because it is transcribed by a fan who is only going by what we all see, and is not an official script or document written by word of God.
I do not see what you’re trying to point out in the three wiki links. They all pretty much say what I’ve been referencing the whole time. None of them claim that the Mane 6 could unlock the door that held the Elements without Celestia, nor did they claim that the episode acknowledges that detail (which is actually based on what is said in Season 2 Episode 1, in case you’ve forgotten).
Moreover, the wiki only assumes what we’re supposed to assume over why the Mane 6 were captured - they were outnumbered. However, because it is supposed to only report FACTS from the show, that is all it says. It has been my personal opinion that having that reason just doesn’t hold water when the Mane 6 were shown to drive just as many Changelings back in a fight scene not more than a few moments ago. It also doesn’t acknowledge the fact that the scene were the Mane 6 failed occurred offscreen, leaving only implications. Again, I feel that leaving such an important scene (if only to increase the drama levels because you’ve just watched the heroes lose) out to occur offscreen really hurts a viewer’s wilful suspension of disbelief.
The wiki links don’t seem to serve you any support, but they do match up to exactly what I reference. Call me what you will, but I just don’t see an actual rebuttal. Actually prove me wrong on something I’ve referenced, and I’ll give you credit.
But you won’t be reading this; after all, you’re not here any more, hitting F5 every few minutes, anticipating my latest comment. No, you’ve been gone for over 10 minutes according to the last time I refreshed this page, busying yourself with looking at Fluttershy having juice (pretty adorable fad, I must say). Why would you even care to return to this thread when gazing upon the adorable cuteness of Fluttershy, or even moving on to looking up sweaters or socks?
shitstorm“discussion” without me. I’m done.Have another pic of cuteness:
Do we work on the show? No, we don’t, so we don’t need to get so worked up over something that doesn’t effect us in the least.
It doesn’t help that some people think their opinion is written in stone and can’t accept anyone else opinion and treats anyone who might think differently as inferior creature that dares to look upon him. That’s taking it too far.
How about we all cool it, and just let bygones be bygones, huh?
Here, have a cute picture:
Ahh~!
So if THEY could make SERIOUS DISCUSSIONS about it, then why the fans cannot?
Go spray your and Matt-whatever the fuck his name is about your (yawn) verbal diarrhea, then fine.
I’ll go look at cute pictures of Fluttershy drinking a (yawn) juice carton.
Have fun being the death of a party you two.
Congrats, you “win.” Have a party:
Good night dear sir.
