Goth Hippie Nerd Pony
Personally I enjoy the original chubby pony designs a bit better, they look less human and more cute, alien even. It helps that they can still look dignified sometimes.
 
Their design in the first two specials was even better, more streamlined and beautiful and realistic. Any screens or clips of Firefly, for example.
 
One thing I don’t think anyone can disagree with, looking at these g1 clips: the nature background artists were good. Lots of lovely meadow and forest art in this show.
