But XI is fantastic!

The thing is,since it was an online entry many people weren’t able to experience it’s awesomeness.

This reminds me,I have yet to play IV.I wonder if they fixed everything they had to fix.

>yes, I DO like the XIII games

Even though XIII is not up there as one of my favorites FF,my experience playing it(and XIII-2) was nothing short of “ok,it was enjoyable”.But this is just me.

Yes,XIII had flaws,in both the gameplay and the storyline…especially the storyline (fuck you Motomu Toriyama, fuck you! I won’t forget about the 3rd birthday either) and there’s nothing wrong with criticizing or even disliking the games. That is ok.

But people, putting other people down (most cases I’ve seen is with the newcomers to the franchise)just because they genuinely like it?

So to answer your question about why all the love for FFX while all the bashing of XIII?

    Nostalgia.

If I was given a dollar for every time some nostalgia drunktard demands Square-Enix a FFVII remake,I would give all that money to obtain the ability to collectively punch them in the face.

The funny thing is,that most people asking for that remake are same ones whining and whining that FFXIII is being milked to death, completely ignoring the milkingpalooza VII had in the mid 00’s.I mean, seriously? were where they?

It’s weird, I played Final Fantasy X AFTER I played XIII and I thought to myself “geez a lot of the stuff people complained about in XIII are here too, so why’s it such a big deal now?” (the leveling systems are pretty similar, both are rather linear in terms of progression, and the battle systems are different compared ot past games [yes I’ll grant X was still turn based, but it also lacked things like the ATB that was made famous by IV though IX, something XIII actually brought back] and it’s probably the earliest example I can think of an RPG with QTE).

I know opinions are subjective and all so if you do like X more then that’s fine, but I just find it odd how people complained endlessly about XIII being linear but yet when X did it it became a huge fan favorite and a nostalgic game for PS2 gamers on the early 00s (I didn’t get into Final Fantasy until XII, believe it or not, so my playings of the older games were both out of order and in order all at once [like I played VII, VIII, and IX before playing I through VI, and then XIII, and then X and X-2, and then XIII-2 because, yes, I DO like the XIII games).
