Did you know the idea of a Jack-O-Lantern came from the legend of a man named Jack who managed to trick Satan into prolonging his life several times? When he finally DID die, neither heaven or hell wanted him and he was left to wander the Earth for all eternity. In either a rare show of pity or respect (it differs depending on which story you read), Satan gave the man a single lump of coal from hell to light his way. That glow is symbolized by the Jack-O-Lantern, which essentially means “lantern of Jack”.

And here is some blueberry candy corn for you, little book unicorn.

Am I the only one who saw the design on that basket and thought it was a nuclear hazard symbol with the bottom triangle cut off?
