Description

Born in a tinkerers’ family in the center of the industrial Hoofington, the earth pony Daisy quickly inherited her parents’ passion for everything that involved tinkering and machinery, allowing her to become the first filly to get her cutie mark which it was a piston, a piece from a new kind of machine her family was slowly developing.

She left school some time later to join her family’s business, where she stood in the workshop while her parents traveled all around Equestria doing business, confident that it would be in good hooves.

Unfortunately some months later she received the terrible news of her parent’s dissapearance while they were traveling to the Griphoon Kingdom. The only thing they told her is that the cruise they were in sank in the middle of the ocean, no survivors were found.

Despite the lifechanging revelation she just received, she barely had time to mourn, now having to work the double to keep her family legacy. But it was useless, she was good at working with machinery, not dealing with other businessponies like her parents did, and she slowly got into debt for trying to keep more that she was prepared for in a first place.

Finally she had to take hardest decision in her life: She had to sell all her family propierties if she didn’t want to lose everything. She packed up and decided travel one last time to Canterlot where she would do the sale.

Fortunately she managed to meet somepony else in her way to Canterlot. It was a black and white unicorn called Diesel. They noticed each other thanks to their distinctive cutiemarks: While hers was a piston, his was a wrench. Diesel explained that he had some iron-rich lands he inherited from his family that allowed him to get all the material he could need to manufacturate any mechanical invention he wanted.

Also he pointed out that he just started extracting a new kind of liquid from the ground, that liquid he called oil had the strange propierty of being a stronger fuel than the coal and the firewood together. If his words were true, that liquid would eventually become one of the most important sources of energy.

Then he just had an idea, he offered to fuse his business to hers. She would be able to pay all her debts and he would be able to use her family’s influence to expand his own business. She didn’t had a better idea and the idea didn’t sound that bad so she accepted the offer and they became partners.

The plan worked way too well, more than she could have she hoped for. They didn’t just saved Daisy’s heritage but they also managed to expand it even more. One night they decided to celebrate it: A glass of wine, a mug of dicer… And happened what it had to happen.

Some months later, she found out she was pregnant, and it didn’t look like a normal pregnancy, she was just three months and she was already big as a 8 months pregnant mare. The answer came when she went to the hospital, the doctors told her she had a really abnormal pregnancy, instead of just having one foal, she had 7 at the same time. The only explanation they could find is that she was like one of those extra-fertile earth pony mares from the old tales.

Actually the situation wasn’t that bad as it looked at first: Thanks to her current economical situation, she knew her brood wouldn’t miss anything for a long time, also she trusted her mate Diesel, who instead of running away, he grew even closer to her.

Still, the young couple was a bit afraid from the new reponsabilities that those foals would carry. One foal was a big change already but seven would be too much for both ponies. Knowing that they decided to enjoy together the rest of the time they had before the foaling. And they had a lot of fun.

Some days before reaching the due date, she decided to go for a walk before noticing the town’s bazaar, and realizing she never paid it a visit, not that she showed any interest in any other thing that it wasn’t working in her workshop, but now that she was heavily pregnant and she had forbidden to even think about working, she didn’t find any reason to not to go in.

The bazaar was plenty of interesting stands. Some offered exotic pets from other parts of Equestria, there was food stands offering seaweed and other strange food and there was LOTS of jewelry stands. She stopped in front of a stand with a letter displaying the words Magical Artifacts. Usually those letters were misleading and the vast majority of those artifacts were actually fake. Daisy knew it but still her eyes posed on a strange medallion that displayed a pregnant alicorn mare hugging her own belly. The vendor noticed and proceeded to explain it’s particular and probably made up story.

As the vendor explained to her, the amulet belonged once to a princess from an ancient kingdom. The legends says that her kingdom was conquered by a cruel tyrant who knowing the princess was expecting a succesor, he ordered his minions to look for any newborn in the kingdom. The princess was so scared for her unborn daughter safety that she refused to give birth during two entire years, until the tyrant was defeated by an unknown force. She died shortly after in labor, exhausted by her own efforts. It’s said that her amulet she wore all the time recorded somehow what her original owner did and it gained the power to emulate her actions in it’s current owner.

She didn’t believe his words at first but she still liked the story and she was already interested in te amulet so she bought it anyways and put it on around her neck ignoring the vendor’s words. Anyways, what would be the worst it could happen?

When the day came she decided to wait the entire day in her bedroom waiting her waters to break but it didn’t happen, stranged, she decided to wait for two days more thinking it was just a simple delay, she didn’t even come out from her bedroom. Fortunately, Diesel bought her one of those new machines that could display moving pictures and sounds, along with another machine called con-so-le. She didn’t know what it really was, but it was pretty fun, specially when she had to spend all day on her bed without being able to move.

The third day, she couldn’t stand it anymore and decided to go outside, and then she discovered something new: Despite her humongous belly, she didn’t feel that heavy as before, in fact she felt like running. She realized that now her belly grew more to the sides instead of growing to the ground. The belly was still pretty close to the ground but that little change was enought to allow her to move without being hindered by her own belly.

She quickly realized what happened: The amulet really worked and it didn’t just prevent her from giving birth, it was also making her able to move despite her abnormal belly size. When she told Diesel about the amulet, he almost didn’t believe it but the birth delay was a good proof of that.

Then Daisy got an idea: Maybe that curse she was told about wasn’t really a curse, at least for her, if she kept wearing the amulet all the time, they wouldn’t have to dealt with the foals for now and it’s magical propierties would allow her to move freely. The only drawback was she wouldn’t regain her thin frame. She just hoped Diesel wouldn’t mind to have her pregnant all the time. He didn’t, in fact, she could even tell that he was more than pleased with that idea despite his tries to hide his thoughts.

Daisy didn’t take off the amulet once, showing off proudly her pregnant frame to everypony lucky enough cross with her. She may not be working anymore in the workshop but her future husbad is doing a pretty good joob with her external assistance and now she has a lot of free time to do whatever she wants, like meeting other interesting ponies, but what she likes to do the most is lay on her bed and play some console games, specially the ones that involves machines, which look a bit inspired from her newest oil-fueled invention.
