I think it was something to do with athletic ponies or muscles. I cannot remember.

Probably the artist relied a bit too heavily on actual horse references? or maybe he/she was just practicing some anatomy?

Which generally is not bad,but considering these are cartoon horses,the artist could have been a bit more flexible.
