Someone should make this a tumblr.
Also, I want to do my own story.
Celestia had lived, seen, experienced, felt, understood, known… Thousands of words can express what she has endured during her lifetime. But no other word can express the greatest and darkess feeling she has felt… Guilt.
Because of her, thousands have died… Because of her, the only sister she had, the sister she loved, the sister she vowed to protect, was lost… Because of her, an entire empire disappeared… Because of her, the world felt chaos beyond anything…
A sad feeling it was. A scary thought it may be. Even so, it can never fix all the mistakes she has made. Those will always stay in history, as history, a scar in the rifts of time. No one may not rememeber her greatest mistakes, but that only means no one can ever forgive her for it. Though she remembers, how can she forgive herself when she was the reason the world she once knew is gone?
All those years of failures have caught up to her, and the only one who can make it disappear is herself… But she thinks, does she deserve to forget? No, that’s what she thinks. Darkness had never been so cruel to anyone before.
Furious self-loathing and bottomless despair bubble over one another to give the princess of the sun greater power over darkness than even the darkest of gods could dream of. A thousand years of regret, of loneliness, of failing everyone she cares about, and her defeated acceptance of these emotions gives her unmatched control over them.
The only thing keeping Celestia from summoning a spire of black crystal under Chrysalis and impaling her was the fact that it would have terrified her ponies, made them see her as the monster she thinks she is underneath. Meanwhile, she just can’t stop failing, as she comes to the realization that she might have failed Twilight, too, by making her immortal and one day depriving her of her friends, of possibly reducing her to the same burning cinder Celestia has become.
Ooooooooor, she’s perfectly happy and doesn’t give a shit, and just so happens to be immune to the effects of dark magic. Who fucking knows? Celestia is practically 100% fanon.
More then thousand years of fear, regret, sorrow, and self-blame. What happens when one believes in nothing but her own weakness? Her will to fight the darkness was what truly was her greatest mistake.
