well somehow they got celestia and luna so it proves those vines are sneaky,espically in the dark forest. The panicking and distracted twilight probably got disorientated quickly with first spray,and got even more panicked to the point that she couldn’t channel her magic properly. I know it essentially contrdicts your feelings but thats how I see it. Discord powers or something.
