yup… that would be mentally scaring for some for sure, so is the horse hair worm thing, I remember my first incounter, stepped on a grasshopper and instead of guts this giant white worm was twisting about.

Probably nowhere near as awesome as mine.  
Our health/sex ed teacher in my middle school was really young and smokin’ and seemed like the kind of bimbo who’d wind up on the news involved in some student sex scandal. But then, she drove all them horny teen boys off with the crazy. Taught us about STDs by bringing in a bunch of her dad’s hippie friends ‘because why resort to pictures when you know so many peeeeople (she said that part way too enthusiastically) who have the diseases we need to discuss?’ and proceeded to poke and prod them like Steve Irwin showing off an angry snake. And when teaching us about parasites, she trapped a beetle with horse hair worms, put it in a large clear plastic box, then poured a small bucket of water on it. Never seen so many kids clawing at doors and windows screaming.  
Basically her typical response to “damn nature, you scary” scenarios is “DAMN nature, you mad sexy/kewl!” Boy, that was an interesting class…

As for what it was I still would rather not recount it, as I said it did leave a bit of a mark even if I was already a highschooler.
