I’ve been a Celly fan for a long time, so I got so giddy when she started singing. You have no idea, holy shit. Every time Celestia shows appreciation for what Twilight’s done for her, it makes me unreasonably happy.
 
Freud would probably find something to say about my relationship with my parents over that, and he’d probably be right.

I was on the fence for the longest time, but Celestia’s Ballad won me over.

Awful lot of Celestia appreciation in here… Please continue.

Agreed with all the shit below. Shame her character only gets baby steps. But what she brings to the table is probably a little too profound for the target audience at large, so generic maternal character it is,

And despite all that she keeps living on and caring for her subjects, She is truly a loving ruler, who probably needs someone to confide in every once in a while.

I tell ya, once Castle Mane-ia aired it really struck me just how long it’s been since this happened. Think about it this way: All those medieval ruins in Europe from the 11th century, crumbling to dust? Now imagine a king who once lived in one of them was still alive and was able to talk about all the battles that took place there and the life that once filled them.
 
Celestia is so ancient that the sheer ravages of time, wind, rain and erosion have had time to wear down her and her sister’s former castle, yet she remains immutable. How vast is that ocean of memories she possesses? In your own life, you can recall maybe a few decades ago with clarity. Consider being able to recalls back centuries with perfect clarity. It’s hard to even fathom.
