Let me remphesize, I’m not saying “all” nor “most” bronies act like that, and neither do all Sonic fans. I’ve met many cool bronies, and Sonic fans out there.
 
Though, you can’t deny half the brony fanbase was getting pretty negative throughout 2013, and the fanbase became pretty divided (or unpleasable) over the series. (Much like how some Sonic fans act.)  
While the drama has died down lately, there’s still a li’l bit of it lingering, and a few crazy fans still saying they want to somehow destroy Hasbro, or Sega. (Kinda a “biting the hand that feeds you” thing going on.)

Don’t forget the similarities between the “Twilicorn” or E.G. controversy/drama, and the drama over things like Sonic having green eyes in Sonic 4, or Princess Sally wearing clothes in the Sonic comic in the Sonic fanbase.
 
While I wouldn’t say we’re as bad as Sonic fans, (I’ve had more bad experiences in that fanbase, then with bronies personally) but still, you have a point with those similarities, and how hypocritical it looks when a brony goes, “Ew a Sonic recolor fan-character! Sonic fans are so stoopid!” yet makes their own pony recolor fan-characters/O.C.s… (I’ve seen fans like that, no exaggeration.)
 
Not to mention, the Season 1-2 MLP:FiM purists are similar to the way the old-school Sonic purists act. (Y’know, the ones that only like the Sega Genesis games, or only the old ‘90s Sonic cartoons/comics.) Right down to bashing the companies that make them, and saying they “ruined” Sonic/MLP.  
(Not saying all bronies, or Sonic fans do this, but the more outspoken ones do.) There’s a difference between having a preference/opinion, and being constantly negative/unpleasable with anything “new.”
 
So it always looks like the “pot calling the kettle black” whenever a brony bashes Sonic for the way his fans act.

We basically are the Sonic fandom. Tons of shitty OCs on DeviantArt, constant arguments for trivial reasons, a number of “fans” who are outspoken about their hatred of the series creators, and people have a very negative perception of us outside of our own group.
 
Bronies hating Sonic fans just reeks of irony, we’re probably one of the most unpleasable ones around, right up there with the Transformers fandom.

Because most of the people here who are not in the Sonic fandom want to have nothing to do whatsoever with the Sonic fandom, and consider it deeply embarrassing. That’s either hilariously ironic, or a sad commentary on the state of the Sonic fandom.
