Um . . . Rarity offered them tickets. And they did help their best friend avoid a career-ending catastrophe. They worked so hard they didn’t even take time to get food and ended up missing the play.
 
Aside from one brief comment, they didn’t even complain about it; they just kept working because Rarity was more important to them than a play.
 
Yeah, the Mane Five had nothing to be ashamed of.
