I never saw bmp in quite a while then…

It’s a BMP with a JPG file extension. Whatever Derpi uses to optimize images appears to detect the image type not from the extension, but from the actual data. It is also happy to save the thumbnail as a BMP with JPG extension.
Why it loads upside-down? Because Microsoft said BMPs have to be saved upside-down because apparently that was efficient for the 80’s hardware. Or something. Who knows.
