Well, I was under the impression that he was the CEO, given that he was credited as an executive producer during the credits of every single episode of the show…
…Wait, now I remember. He’s the guy who’s specifically in charge of the Hub.
Ah. Then I’ve probably seen his name during the end credits of each episode (though I’m not sure if it’s towards the beginning or towards the end).
…Now that I think about it… is Stephen Davis, the current CEO of Hasbro, involved with the fandom as much as some of the other producers, or at all? I mean, I’m guessing any executive decisions come from him, but does he interact with the fans at all?
@Jarkes
He’s VP of Development for Hasbro. Here’s how the website Collider described his job:
In what sounds like a truly awesome job, Mike Vogel has headed all development for Hasbro Studios, the Los Angeles-based production division of Hasbro, Inc., since March 2011, shepherding many of the studio’s well-known brands from inception through success on The Hub, a joint venture between Hasbro and Discovery Communications, and on networks reaching more than 160 countries, globally. He works closely with producers, writers and artists, as well as independent entities, to re-imagine, reinvent and reignite the company’s beloved brands while collaborating on possible toys, products and licensing.
@TexasUberAlles
Same could be said for Atheists, and their beliefs… (Remember the stink they made over “Feeling Pinkie-Keen” just because they misunderstood the moral, and thought it was somehow “promoting religion,” therefore “offending” them?)
@Bolan
People want pandering that panders to them, not to anyone else. Derpy fanboys want Derpy, but fsck you if you want LyraBon or Scootafly instead, and Bonnie help us if Daring Do turns out to be a real person, because ALL THEIR HEADCANON AND FANFIC ARE RUIN. Fandom shoutouts are like religions; people won’t shut up about their own pet ideology, but they’ll just soil themselves and roll around in their own filth if they have to deal with somebody else’s shoutouts.
@Bolan
One of the best aspects of MLP is that they’re able to have both the adventurey stuff and the slice of life stuff in the same show and still have it work, to insinuate that the rest of us only come for the character development is kind of assuming and more than a bit untrue!
That’s the good stuff but I feel like character development has been sidetracked a bit this current season by action and adventure. Kind of like the character’s ‘real’ lives and the rest of their world has been shelved while this complicated story arc plays out. The utter lack of Ponyville’s other citizens so far exacerbates this.
The last two episodes have definitely been an improvement though, so I think we’re going in the right direction. We’ll see.
@Bolan
Actually, there has been quite a bit of “continuity,” and “character development” throughout the past few seasons. Like Fluttershy seems less of a “coward,” ever sense “Putting Your Hoof Down.” Dashie also seemed a bit more grown-up at the end of “Wonderbolt Academy,” then she did in past seasons. Among other things.
It’s conservation of detail. If you want to make us happy, invest in the characters- Not blatantly like a Derpy episode, just give the cast and the settings depth. Give us continuity. Nods to internet memes are harmless but they just feel unimportant.
Basically, the best kind of pandering is the unintentional kind. I hope that made some sense.
@Bolan
Waste of space.The Slendermane is hidden so far in the background that it was only found 1 day later by the obsessed guys at 4Chan.Plus people want pandering that advances the character and the plot ????????? What???? i,i dont get it and i’m not mocking you,i sincerely dont understand your point,does this mean you want Derpy as a main character or something ??? IMO, i rather have that so called pandering (that are merely pop culture reference for some such as the Grumpy Cat cutie mark that cause some people to cause yet another shitstrom because they dont have anything better to do) having no consequences on the plot and characters,if that happen it going to be yet another reason for drama-whongering and i dont want it.I just want to watch ponies (mumble:Fucking nerds)
It’s not that they hate pandering, they’re just not satisfied with the pandering they’re getting because it’s all been inconsequential memes and references, basically wastes of space. People want pandering that advances the characters and plot.
@Tenafly Viper
Yeah, I’m getting sick of that to… It’s also ironic, alot of those people who hate “pandering,” are also angry over the lack of things like “Derpy.”
(And Derpy’s pretty much the first case of “pandering” the show ever had ironically.) Though, I love the Derpster to, don’t get me wrong.
Not all “pop-culture/meme references” are “pandering,” I wish some would realize… Some things like the “Big Labowski Ponies” in the bowling ally (The Cutie Pox) are something the show’s makers put in to amuse themselves, and the parents watching.
(Plus, believe it, or not, that’s not the first time a Rated-R movie was referenced in a kid’s/family show.)

Did Brian Goldner leave?
Ah. Then I’ve probably seen his name during the end credits of each episode (though I’m not sure if it’s towards the beginning or towards the end).

Yeah, I saw it now.
It’s amusing and all, but it’s also just another reason for idiots to scream about “pandering”…
Found it! >>522392 I assume it was just the animators, or something just having their fun.
I dunno. It’s slightly creepy if you watch the “Marble Hornets” videos, but even then, it’s not all that unique or interesting.
Where’s this “Slenderman” episode?
I think it’s one of those “you have to be in the fandom to know why” things.
But, I’m also equally terrified that nothing will come out of this and the tweet was just a passing remark
There’s hope yet :P
There, now my expectations have been met.
