Suit yourself. I prefer games that don’t grind to a permanent crawl after the first couple turns for lack of cards or effects to play. I like having effect monsters that can do something besides get steamrolled by something bigger. I like having some actual options for building a competitive deck besides just grabbing the 40 best cards in the game.

Even with the silliness of the older series i still prefer old school yu gi oh as opposed to this “special summon from the deck, search for any card from the deck, TL:DR effects that there are today… just take a look a this:

You must be playing an older game. Newer Yu-Gi-Oh games have updated card lists and tend to use the casts of the newer series.
 
But yeah, Rare Hunter’s 13-Exodia-card deck from the older games is bullshit. They could’ve easily given him a tourney-legal Exodia deck and still made him a tough opponent, even back then, but they had to go and make him a completely luck-based fight.
