“Canterlot Nights, the 1st expansion set to the highly popular My Little Pony CCG, is scheduled to release the early April. This set introduces Princess Celestia and Princess Luna as all-new main characters for players to build their decks around. New versions of main characters, powerful new friends, new mechanics, fun content, and more! Canterlot Nights will be available in 12-card boosters and 59-card theme decks.”
With the possible exception of the Mane 6, I don’t doubt characters will make their ways into other Element colors. While Kindness/Yellow certainly applies to the Celestia Friend card in our first set, I suspect her Mane Character card won’t be in this expansion.
The one mechanic that may still come into play is that every card had a short subtitle, and some believe that this may allow for repeating characters in new cards but with different characteristics (including which element they fall under).
Octavia being a Rarity card makes sense due to her classiness. As for Spike… I can’t explain that one. Maybe it’s a dragon thing. Flavor text mentions his growth speed.
Exactly my hope. My only concern is that Octi was a Rarity card. It would make more sense for Vinyl to be Pinkie, but after Spike was a Rainbow card instead of a Twilight…
I think that’s quite likely to be the case. The headcanon around Vinyl is that she’s the party type, and the “Let’s Get This Party Started” card featuring Vinyl is of the Laughter type.
