And as for the Luna discussion below: Comic Luna isnt that far from show Luna, given her rare appearances. Hellbent for decorum, somewhat out of touch with modern life, playful, with a hint of bloodlust. Sure, she stretches that Ye olde butchered Englishe stick, but I kinda enjoy that. It’s definitely a conscious choice by the writers, even if they could do it better in some places (by using more actually outdated words for example. I know the comics are for teh kidz but teh kidz can deduct meaning from context just fine, or they should learn how to). And the comic has her a bit more of a warrior princess, hunting monsters at night, which is cool.
maybe thats why he likes rarity?
I know. It’s like they didn’t notice that Luna began to talk properly after Luna Eclipsed.
I always thought Luna would be more serious compared to Celestia who’s more laid-back and cheerful.
Which has always been an established archetype for her. But I think Celestia is more than just that.
Remember Celestia’s Micro Series comic? I loved it because we actually got to see Celestia be a badass hero. (Yes it was a flashback but I stand by my point.)
TBH, if IDW Luna is the kind of Luna that they’d put in the show…ehh. She’s good for laughs, but not really how I think Luna would act in the show.
And even in the comic, Celestia’s still just a “wise mentor” archetype.
I wish they were as loved by the show’s writers as much as the comic’s writers.
We’ve never seen Spike say no. The reason he does all of this is because he feels that it’s the only way he has to be important to those he loves. So, if they are allowing him to believe that, then aren’t they misusing him?
eh its not like the force the reptile to do it. he could just say no. well except for rarity whom he could never say no too.
Hell yes! It’s awesome that the Royal Sisters are getting so much love in the comics!
I’m happy about the fact that Celestia is getting another story in the comics!
But in reality, this story is about Cele + Spike finding the best b-day present for Twilight and going on an epic journey to get it.
“How the Alicorn Stole Hearth’s Warning Eve”
“Every pony down in Ponyville, the tall and the small,
Was singing! Without any presents at all!
She HADN’T stopped Hearth’s Warning from coming!
IT CAME!
Somehow or other, it came just the same!”
