I’m referring to the fact that twilight has pony ears in this image, but no wings, but she has Wings in other images of her in pony form.

What I’m saying is this image seems to imply that she’s just going to have a “normal” pony form at first in the movie and upgrade to a winged pony form at some point.
bingo77

So since Twilight lacks wings in this image whaddaya wanna bet the first half of the movie is a giant buildup to twilight somehow evolving into a winged pony girl?

We attribute other fandoms to our fandom which create a few inconsistencies (sp), thus making it really fucking trying to participate. However, I’ve a stronger consitution than others, so I’m good. :3

The End wasn't The End - Found a new home after the great exodus of 2012

I still don’t understand the anger EQG causes. I’ve always had the mindset of “Doesn’t matter, still very much pony related.” In the end we need to remember that we’re watching a show based off colorful ponies on a quest for friendship. Something is wrong with us.

Y’know, after reading a lot of these comments, it’s no wonder why people think we’re the next Sonic fandom. And that’s not a compliment.

Buckle up? That’s a laugh. Eqg is exactly what makes us want to get off the ride.

Foolishness aside, there was no way it wasn’t going to happen. EQG1 made Hasbro a shitton of money, so of course they’re going to sequelize it until it doesn’t do that anymore. Hasbro really might be run by Bobby Kotick’s equally-evil twin.

(Well, I would’ve posted a link to the EqD poll, except BGPs can’t post links. You can go to the EqD .com top-level URL and then add /2013/07/poll-results-do-you-like-equestria-girls.html if you want to double-check the information I’m about to give…)

@Background Pony #9A6A
The EqD question was simply “Did you like Equestria Girls?”, and the options were Yes (49.28%), No (6%), I’m in the middle (14.84%), I haven’t seen it yet but plan to soon (24.71%), and I haven’t seen it and never plan on seeing it (5.17%). So the options weren’t worded as strongly as “love” and “hate”, and even so there was a neutral option for those who didn’t care for it but didn’t want to say they outright disliked it.

Personally, I thought it was mediocre: entertaining enough that I don’t regret seeing it, flawed enough that I have no desire to see it again. So I’m a little skeptical of how strongly those results are weighted towards “like” myself, but unless I see another poll or survey showing otherwise, I really can’t argue that the people who disliked the movie outnumber those who liked it.

I think it is true that the vast majority of the fanbase would prefer that MLP:EqG content not delay, reduce, or degrade MLP:FiM content, but as I implied earlier, I think dHX has increased their staffing to the point that’s not going to happen, or at least not to any significant degree. So while I’m not looking forward to the new EqG movie, I’m not bothered by it either (And there’s always the chance that dHX could turn things around and put out a good EqG movie.)

You are entitled to not like it; I certainly didn’t like the first movie, and prefer the show over Equestria Girls.
I still believe it to be unnecessary, uninteresting, and BORING.
That being said if one likes it fine; their choice.

Honestly, I think a lot of people, especially on EqD are…well, just really nice. I think that if it was a choice between ‘like it’ or something as strong as ‘hate it’, many people who were more on the fence would choose ‘like it’. Of course, I cannot prove that, but from what I have seen on this site, EqD, /mlp/, reddit, etc, there are FAR more people who are at least apprehensive about it. And among the people who liked it, probably most, if not all of them do prefer the show over the movie.

I don’t try to attack people who like it, and I don’t try to over-analyze the movie and nitpick it. I don’t like the fact that Hasbro is pushing this, the actual contents of the movie aren’t the real issue here, in my opinion. However, that hasn’t stopped people from hating on me simply for voicing the opinion that I don’t like the movie, and don’t want more.

Honestly, it seems like many (not all) people who like it don’t really have the greatest reasons for doing so. Not that you have to have some amazing argument for liking everything you like, but what I mean is that many people seem to almost blindly say they love it, like they HAVE to be positive and support everything Hasbro does, or they’re just trying so desperately to avoid drama and just don’t want to get involved. But one of the worst things to come out of all this EG drama stuff is just all the tension within the fandom. It’s just kinda sad, really…

“I think there are more people who don’t like EG” – EqD ran a poll on that issue last July; nearly 50% of the respondents said they liked it (and another 25% said they hadn’t seen it but planned to), while only 11% said they didn’t like it or never planned to see it. I’m sure that’s not a perfectly representative sampling of the fandom, but I strongly doubt it’s that far off. If you know of other polls or surveys that indicate otherwise, please point them out.

“(NO ONE should hate on anyone, no matter their view, but maybe that’s just wishful thinking…)” – Agree 110%, if not more. That’s what I find most discouraging about Equestria Girls, about Twilicorn, about Derpygate, about DWM, etc., etc.

“If it’s so good, why does it need to be defended constantly?” – Because it’s attacked constantly? Personally, I think its defenders would be better off realizing they aren’t going to change anyone’s mind and stop responding to the attacks (like I have with MMC), but, well, this is the Internet…

“Since it’s created by the same studio and writers, there’s almost no way it won’t delay new episodes, unless they somehow managed to squeeze the entire movie-making process into the short production hiatus between seasons.” – Or, maybe, they expanded the staff? Surely I can’t be the only one that’s noticed all the new names among the storyboard artists and writers…
