Well it makes sense if their going for that, but it seems odd to replace Big Mac for Fluttershy as a musician, as their singing types aren’t even close.
 
That would mean that they would have to change their whole song setup to allow for the type change.

Yeah…That seems rather of an odd choice, but it probably was a last minute thing. I mean, there’s no way there are any other ponies who can sing in a low key well like Mac…Well, there’s plenty of stallions, but obviously a kind hearted mare such as Fluttershy is a much better choice…{Okay, does everything always have resolve around the main six this season?}

Come to think of it, I’m no musicologist here, but unless Fluttershy’s taking a hit of the old poison joke again, then there’s going to be some sort of rearranging needed for a pony with one of the highest voices on the show filling in for the pony with one of the lowest.

Yeah it’s getting a little old, but after four seasons it’s not like they can just completely redefine one of Big Mac’s only canon character traits. Surely a tired joke is better than just writing him out of the show?
 
I guess the best we can hope for is more gags like in Ponyville Confidential, where Big Mac saying more than the norm is the joke.

You’d think by now that people would realize that Big Mac not saying much is kind of a running gag. Especially with the lampshade hanging it’s getting in Season 4. Giving him alot of dialogue in an episode would spoil the joke.
