Yeah. The thing is, the issue with FlashLight isn’t even so much an issue with shipping. It’s more about Flash Sentry himself. Let’s face it, the only reason for his creation was to be a possible love interest for Twi. That’s… really kind of lame when you think about.
 
It’s like this: If an established character gets into a relationship, then it should be with another established character. In this context, an “established character” is a character that is able to stand on their own and exist independently of other characters. They weren’t created to be an accessory to another character.
 
That’s why CheeriMac and FlutterMac both work and are easy to support. Big Macintosh, Fluttershy, and Cheerilee are all established characters, independent of one another. None of them were created specifically to be a love interest. Thus, the relationships feel more real.
 
Flash, on the other hand, was created specifically to be a love interest, first and foremost. Thus, he feels really fake.

There always has to be one person a day bashing on Flashlight. It has more basis in reality than Scratchtavia.

Personally… I was never really able to get behind the FlutterMac ship. I’m not saying that I hate it, or that it’s a bad ship, or anything like that. I just have never really… “felt it”.
 
That being said, I’m glad that this episode gave Fluttermac shippers something to work with. Finding evidence for your favorite ship is a wonderful feeling. When people are able to experience it, it’s a cause for celebration, no matter what ship it is! ^_ ^
 
(…well, except for FlashLight. But that’s a whole ’nother can of worms.)

I choose to support Fluttermac.
 
I acknowledge canon nods to Cheerimac.
 
I refuse to get all het up over it either way. Fluttermac is my headcanon, but what is actually canon, and other peoples’ headcanon, bother me not at all.

That’s because Fluttershy was starting to ad lib, making it a lot more difficult for Big Mac to lip synch properly, hence the sweating.
