Part of me wants to see them “succeed” and prank the backers of this “project” just to see those that threw money thinking this was a legit dating sim be let down when they do the old bait-n-switch (they have a big disclaimer at the end of one of their videos stating that they “reserve the right to change the final product into anything” or something along those lines).
 
And the other part of me wants to see the prank fail so hard that the MDE get all buttflustered about their “master-plan to troll the bronies” assures that other “comedy” groups don’t try to mess with the fandom for shits and giggles.

Yet there are already 111 backers with $4,157 pledged of the $7,500 goal.

If these are the people behind the game and it is a scam, I’m less annoyed that they’re trying to scam us and more amazed that they’re just so bad at it. Posting about it on Facebook, attaching their real names and reputations to it; It seems like a lot of risk for little payoff.
 
I guess maybe they saw the Fighting is Magic C&D hullabaloo and figured it would be easy to make the same amount of drama by setting up another anticipated game that runs into trouble, but I can’t see this kickstarter that sprung out of nowhere making that much of a splash. By claiming the game is almost done and promising a demo within a week, they’ve really limited the amount of time they’d be able to string this out with people giving them the benefit of the doubt even if people hadn’t gotten suspicious already.

Looking at the source page, apparently this wouldn’t be the first time they did something like this. Seems like they aren’t far from getting away with it, either; even if they stink horribly at covering themselves.
