Yep. a consortium between at-x and tv tokyo provided some of the voices for the japanese dub of the show. this means the milky holmes series, despite being connected to the consortium, aired first on mx tv before mlp was dubbed.
Maybe their animes air on the same channel or something? Or are produced by the same studio?
To specify, I mean that the same studio that produces Wakamote also dubbed MLP.
Also, oh, Tomoko.
That’s pretty damn close to the actual translation, the biggest difference being the bit in the parenthesis (she says “It’s all that horse’s fault!”).
Also, near the screen it says “It’s [or “I’m”] Rainbow Dash!” I’m surprised they actually used her full name, without covering up a part of it like they usually do.
Tomoko : So, this morning there was this weird-ass American Anime airing on TV.
Tomoko : Before I knew it, I was hooked on it and watched the entire episode (The blue flying pony is the best pony).

On another note, I wouldn’t be surprised if the mangaka deliberately drew RD in specifically because Tomoko’s voice actress voices her.
I mean, I recall that in Detective Conan, the author put in references to Amuro Rei of Mobile Suit Gundam when he realised Amuro’s voice actor was cast as a recurring character, and by funny coincidence said character’s rival happened to be voiced by Char Aznable’s voice actor.
By the Inferno! Why didn’t it come out while I was still in Japan? I just left!

it’ll be interesting if Tomoko watch teh show and mimicks RD’s voice (coz same VA).
Kinda like Konata did Haruhi voice in Lucky Star.
