The episdoe itself is not what people are so fussed about. It’s about Zachary misleading everyone. If he had been honest and not pretended it was gonna be something grander, we’d have all liked Double Rainboom the same way we like Snowdrop. Then there’s the thing with Zachary removing the video from youtube even though other people helped make it, yet he decided he had 100% control over it. And the fact that stolen assets were used to make it. It’s not about the video itself, but about Zachary making it a dramafest with his poor decisions.
 
So long as where this gets aired, it is made clear it’s not a real episode, then I don’t mind at all.

“Viciously hated” is, if anything, a bit of an understatement. I don’t know how widespread the hatred is, but there are bronies that talk about it like it’s the worst thing ever made (except maybe for MMC and anything related to Equestria Girls), and that Zachary Rich should never be allowed to draw anything ever again.

But it certainly didn’t live up to the hype its creator(s) had built up for it. It claimed that it would be a show-quality full-length fan episode. And if the show ever becomes anything like what Double Rainboom was, that would end the ride for this weird adult male that likes pastel miniature equines.

I didn’t realize Double Rainboom was that viciously hated.
 
But then again, I haven’t been around mainstream bronies in a while.
