And yes, the plot was pretty contrived but she writes such a good rarity I found myself completely buying into it once the sexy bits got started. plus rarity is me so I can read it and pretend I’m getting plowed by discord I mean, what?

I actually once read a very good Pinkie/Discord/Rarity threesome, although the plot contrivance that caused it to happen was pretty silly and I think the author set out to write it just so he could use the smushname Disparity. :-)

I think Discord OTP depend on the way you percieve him  
If as a careless prankster then Pinkie seem fit  
If as an wise and old mentor people then tend to match him with Celestia  
If as an big evil who only is mean because he just seek love and care then people see Fluttershy as perfect match  
And of course if you focus on his speciality-Magic and his rivalry with Twiligth then you tend to ship TwiCord  
And at last if you see him as a victim of imprisoment for 1000 year then you match him with Luna
 
I myself like all discord shipping and woudnt mind if any of them was canonised in tv show ;)

I tend to be much of the same mind, I think there is a very strong case for a past dislestia ship, particularly after discord’s tirade at twilight about ‘princesses thinking themselves too good to be his friend’. And even future dislestia is possible if discord can mature emotionally by way of relationships he cultivates in show-present-time to catch up to celestia and even have a hope of reconnecting with her viewpoint, her values or even her most basic interests. And there are deep wounds there, a resentment and mutual distrust that, again, as alara pointed out, it’s going to take more than a lifetime to heal. In the meantime, however, I feel that discopie works because pinkie provides an excellent example of how to be chaotic and still considerate of others; she enjoys his humor and his chaos and has the silly wit and charm required to keep up with him. She clearly likes him, or at least wants to spend time with him, even when he’s sick and destructively sneezy. I think discord needs, if not a lover than certainly as a friend, someone who’s interest in him originates not from a sense of duty or ‘if I don’t play nice hell do something bad’ or a desire for his power, but from a genuine enjoyment of his company. Someone who likes him for his personality. Now, in not saying fluttershy’s friendship of him is fake or disingenuine, but it did admittedly start from a manipulative mindset. I don’t have a problem with fluttercord per se, I just feel that they simply don’t have enough in common to make a good romantic couple, at least, certainly not as much as discopie does. Instead I see almost a sibling or strange child-parent relationship; fluttershy is attempting to instill important social & moral values into discord, looking out for his wellbeing, sympathizing with his hurts but not being afraid to lay down the law (see; the end of the plundervines incident). Given discord’s lack of social and emotional maturity, a mother-figure; ie a loving, kind, emotionally invested authority figure and sometimes corrections officer, is just what the doctor ordered. But in the same breath I think pinkie pie: affectionate, passionate, chaotic and humor-compatible prankster that she is, has a completely different role to play in this lifetime. One that involves me drawing lots of cute p0rn to illustrate for you fine people ;)

Personally while I feel like Dislestia is the strongest overall Discord ship because of the shared past and shared immortality, I don’t see it going on in the present day; I feel like if Celestia and Discord are ever going to get back together after repeatedly trying to ruin the other one’s life and a thousand years of Discord being in stone, it will take some time, maybe as much as a pony lifetime. And I don’t see Discord as even comprehending monogamy, let alone being faithful to someone you’re not even with anymore.
 
So I tend to ship modern-day Fluttercord with past and maybe future Dislestia, but Discopie works too. I could also see Discord and Pinkie as being physically affectionate platonic friends or friends with benefits without there being a full-blown ship there. Certainly there’s evidence in canon that Pinkie will walk up to Discord and hug him when he claims to be sick (and that he got rid of her with a balloon, whereas he made her friends sick to get rid of them… suggests greater affection for her than for them.)
