The context is that it demonstrates that they’re approaching the subjects from opposite directions. Twilight’s saying that she knows what she’s doing because she knows all the information; she probably studied up on Wonderbolt history to help Dash, and Twilight being an inveterate reader, probably remembered most of it. All she’s saying is that she knows more Wonderbolt history than Dash does, which is quite possibly true.
 
Whereas Dash’s view is “I’m an awesome flier, so it doesn’t matter if I know when the Wonderbolts were founded or whatever”.
 
The short version is that Twilight is all about the trivia, whereas RD is all about the skill.
 
Also, I doubt that Twilight is seriously claiming to be a better flyer than RD; she’s just trying to goad her into learning the background of the group she’s trying to join.

All I hear is Twilight going on and on about how she knows more about her obsession than Dashie knows about her obsession.
