Trickquestion

This is an interesting question though.

Does Equestria encompass the world? Is it only one of many nations? If so, what other countries are there? Do donkeys and griffons have a country? Do dragons? Is Equestria the only pony nation, or are there other, like the one Cadance is supposedly from? Are crystal ponies a different nationality or a whole other race entirely?
