Whatever Spike did was just a redeem when he failed to sing the Cloudsdale Anthem earlier. The iceblock was small enough for the pegasi ponies to steer easily towards the center of the field without problems. Another thing about Equestria Games is this magic-disabling spell for the unicorn-spectators who passed security, you know, to prevent them from cheating, but did the head of security believe that the officials and the princesses would cheat in the games, as well? The Mane Six and everyone would’ve taken care of that situation, as well, if only the conflict weren’t so arbitrarily restricted and the episode not giving Spike the spotlight.

That’s the crux of the problem with Spike episodes. Every single character must get dragged down for random, non-sensical reason for Spike to shine at all.

Flitter and Cloudchaser are best platforms.

Anyone care to do an edit of this with the MGR “jumping on rockets” buttons?

There was that one episode in Season 3 where Spike was leaping about buildings. I think it was the pet-sitting one which ironically took place while the Crystal Empire was up for consideration for hosting the Games.
 
So I’d say he’s honed the skill since then.

This was awesome. If there were a Jak-esque MLP platformer featuring Spike, they need to make Pegasus-hopping a thing.

We saw Spike do some pretty fancy footwork in “Crystal Empire”, so we know the boy’s got moves. Still, this was epic.

It just goes to show, pegasi can make anyone great.

I was shocked when I 1st saw Spike do this! Since when did he have these skills? Did Celestia even teach him fancy footwork as well as teaching him to cook, clean, and send letters? DAMN!
