Frankly, mine is of Twilight as Persian and Pinkie as Armenian - granted, that is in a AU where Equestria is analogous to the Persian Empire, so make of that what you will.

Doesn’t make sense. For one thing while unicorns and earth ponies are different tribes they belong to the same race. It’s kind of clear that Equestria is analagous to Europe. Hence, they’d both be European. (Perhaps Twilight is British and Pinkie is German? Earth Ponies always struck me as Bavarian.)
