Like I said, anything less than full power, and she would not have been able to stand toe-to-toe. It was even stated that they were pretty much at a standstill.
Neither is this Dragonball, but he would probably be okay with their waste of power in every attack.

You could argue the same thing for any of the experienced pony princesses then. I never saw them do needle-beams.
