Hi cheeze, if you are still alife, imgur did another big round of old pic purges, and this was one!
Do you remember what the joke was supposed to be? 🤔
I do wish their was a few more Celestia and Discord moments. I love Fluttershy and Discord together but when u think about it technically Celestia is the first one who gave him a chance and they were enemies In the past. Would have been cool to see their dynamic more in the show, welp their is always idw comics
@Mr. Horrible Wing Commander. Then again, that was a good property, with all related medias equally superb. Only the theatrical movie washed out. It would probably hurt the main show considerably to tie it into any external media at the current juncture. Also Gargoyles will likely retread or lead off the comics, should Weismann ever find a studio willing to take a risk with it. Mayhaps he should consider doing webisodes with some of the fans first as part of an initial pitch using pageviews and virality to bolster the pitch.
@soundtea
Not as broad as you might think, actually.
I mean yeah they’re probably not going to be directly referenced on the show, but when was the last time ANY flim/TV franchise played off of storylines from-tie in media?
@Jarkes
Which is pretty much what everyone should do. They’re enjoyable little stories in the FiM verse, not set in stone canon like the show. Don’t act like the comics will invalidate your fanfic fullstop.
@Jarkes
That’s the point. So they don’t intrude into the show canon. Show canon trumps all, the comics are pretty much the EU of FiM. They’re not set in stone in the same continuity as the show.
Well, yeah, that’s the thing: it’s not the least bit clear just WHEN each arc, Micro-Series, and Friends Forever takes place in relation to any of the actual episodes. The most we’ve gotten is that the current Mirror World arc is explicitly in-between “Magical Mystery Cure” and “Princess Twilight part 1.”
That’s not what I was doing. I was considering the comics and the events therein as “optional canon.” Basically, I make my own decisions over what bits and pieces that I feel are canon (if they’re not outright contradicted by the show, and so far none of them have). For example, the story of how Shining and Cadance met in issues 11 and 12? I take some aspects of the story into my personal interpretation of how it happened. The framing story where they’re telling the story to the mane six? I ignore that part entirely.
Yeah, well, according to issues 11 and 12, Shining and Cadance’s 1st anniversary takes place before Magical Mystery Cure. Didn’t stop me from incorporating season 4 aspects into my fanfic set during their 1st anniversary, and eventually deciding to set it shortly after the season 4 finale.
Looks like they commented 2 months ago try inboxing them or something

Come next Essential Atlas and half the ideas presented in these comics will be re-canonized and you know it.
Disney can go fuck themselves with a rake.
starwars comics are no longer canon in any way.
I treat it like Star Wars anyway. Comics are the EU so to speak.
Not as broad as you might think, actually.

And indeed, I don’t do that.

Which is basically why I pick and choose what aspects of the comic I think are canon.

You’re implying the comics are set in a solid timeline.

he was talking about his own fanfic, you fabric.

yeah, but this specific arc is confirmed to happen before season 4 starts.
Well, issue #15 (I think) references the events of “Power Ponies”…
Comics apply to the show in broad strokes at best. Plus the fact that the comic takes place before S4 even started.
And the fact that due to the mirror thing, Good Sombra’s likely going to sacrifice himself.
You know, I’m really getting sick of people using autism as an insult to describe people on the internet that they disagree with.
