Actually, it wasn’t really made clear which civilization Battra destroyed, but it certainly wasn’t the Cosmos.

News about Godzilla ongoing. Warning spoilers, if you want to read the comic for yourself, ignore this post:
 
Battra, after being defeated in South Korea via electrical net, was shipped off to Monster Island alongside Kumonga, Anguirus and Titanosaurus. Also, Mothra, Kiryu!MechaGodzilla and, maybe, SpaceGodzilla are scheduled to make appearances in later issues of the comic.

Well, IDW Godzilla ranges from enjoyable to okay to HOLY CRAP THAT’S AWESOME! Kingdom of Monsters and Ongoing is enjoyable. Gangsters and Goliaths is okay (although it could have more monster fights) and Legends is the last inclusion although the Rodan issue is meh. The best would have to be the issue with Anguirus fighting Destoroyah, Godzilla and MechaGodzilla fighting Hedorah and a daredevil climbing Godzilla to get caught up in a fight with Kumonga.
