Well, I took three weeks to enjoy it all, so yeah, I managed to sleep… although some reading sessions did finish quite late at night XD

@BigMax Oh hell! Tell me you got at least SOME sleep inbetween bouts of reading?
 
Yeah, I remember finding it back during the Spring semester of 2009, and I’ve been hooked on it ever since. I want to eventually safe up money so I can buy the collected trade paperbacks of the series so far and proudly put them up in my library.

And I actually stopped much, much before… Agatha was still with the actors company, and well away from Mechanicsburg.

I think the major fault of Homestuck is (due to the user-inputted command system at the beginning and the sure-why-not attitude of the author) that the first act or so is really, really slow. And if you’re someone who’s heard about HS through all the time travel and characterization and post-apocalyptic scenarios and badassery and aliens and storytelling and game mechanics and alternate universes and death…it’s really hard to sit through hundreds of pages of a kid basically just dicking around. It also continues to have pacing problems throughout even after the command-inputting system is dropped. Even if you have patience, the payoff might still feel like a letdown.
 
However, I feel the originality, the sheer mind-boggling scope and stakes of the story, and the mix of telling this story though animated panels, instant-messaging logs, interactive walkarounds, several-minute-long animations, and a variety of art styles elevate Homestuck to something absolutely brilliant. And because of that, it’s become one of my favorite webseries (and drugs) of all time.

Bro you clearly have no goddamn idea what stylization is. The characters are drawn to resemble video game sprites, and even when drawn in detail during flash sequences (because it actually embraces its nature as a WEB comic beyond the occasional non-standard panel layout) they’re still rendered to somewhat resemble their simplified character designs.
 
Its not gonna look like Lackadaisy Cats and have 3+ hours worth of animation in it ontop of +6000 pages is what I’m saying, and if you can enjoy it for the aesthetic and not just ‘ugh, it could look so much more pretty’ then the style does not remotely detract from the reading experience.

@BigMax All the pages? Yeah, if you read the comic from the beginning, you are going to need at least a few days of spare time to catch up with the entire run. Might be an exaggeration, true, but be prepared to lose at least a day of constant, consecutive reading to fully get caught up.
 
Of course, it’s worth it; it’s one of the best written ongoing graphic novel-quality webcomics out there right now.

@BigMax That depends. How long ago did you stop reading it? Either way, prepare to set aside AT LEAST a couple hours, if not a whole day for reading purposes.

That detailed inset of Applejack makes her look so handsome.
 
Also kinda wondering if Apple Bloom is a modified human like Mac is or if she’s all-natural.
